I want to upgrade the memory of my loptop. It came with a 512mb and want to upgrade it to a bigger capacity one, which I already got it. My question is: what do I need to do to replace the one installed with the new one? Do I have to remove the the existing one a stick in the new one?
Thanks for you help. Rene. |

Turn your laptop over and on the bottom will be a little panel or door to remove to expose the memory bay. Most machines have two slots. If yours are both full, you will have to remove one and insert your new, larger one. The computer can then use them both. There are usually little clips on the ends of the memory sticks securing them. Don't break anything, just open the clips and the memory board will pop out of its slot with a little tug..Carefully insert your new one and close the locking clips...
