Default firewall check

I had firewall on this comp, but today a sign came on screen saying I had no firewall. How do I check to see if I have and what kind of firewall I have? I'm not sure the sign was legit or trying to sell firewall.
Thank You'

Hey, go to

Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Security Center.

There is your firewall. When you click on the arrow pointing down next to where it says "Firewall" you will see what kind of firewall your currently running now. If you didnt install any firewall or any antivirus it would probably be the Windows firewall.

Thank you, it says my firewall is on and ok. I don't know where the firewall off message came from.
Thank You;

Your welcome. No idea where the message came from it might be a virus. Do a full scan with an antivirus just to make sure your clean.
