Default Hey

Adding more ram does not effect the speed of the processor. What it effects is the overall performance of your system. The CPU will still run at its default frequency but having more ram would mean that games and other applications will have more memory to work with. As a result, the computer should perform better. From personal experience aim at a minimum of 512MB. The ideal situation for most users is 1GB.

jan is right, increasing the memory will not make your processor run any faster. However it would perform alot better, if you playing some newer games and apps like adobe, macromedia, ect, then you will notice a huge difference in performance. I went from 512mb to 1gb, and farcry went soo much better. By the way, are you running XP?

The only way to get that chip to 2GHz would be to raise the FSB.

luckily for overclocking theres this handy little guide http://www.computerforum.com/cpus-overclocking/announcements.html

FSB as is probably mentioned in the guide is Front Side Bus
