Default Futitsu Siemens Amilo M7400 Wireless problem

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I bought a second hand Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M7400 laptop and when I conected it to my internet (wireless) The XP operating system said it was not genuine and various functions did not work. I contacted the seller and he sent me the disc, which were copied and still didn't work. I was very annoyed as I had been done. A friend had a look and he re-installed a version of XP and now the wireless does not work. The buttons on the left hand side that turn the wireless on, go to Oulook and Explorer don't work. The wireless LED is not on and it will not detect wireless networks in range. THe device manager says the wireless drivers are working and I have re-installed the drivers form the Siemnes disc. I have been onto website to get updates and got the most recent drivers - can anyone help, it's driving me mad
