Anyway, short and simple, how can I save this video http://vod.cctv.com/html/media/sport...090629_2.shtml so that I can play it in Windows Movie Maker?

Wimpy Player allows you to embed videos into a web page. Is that what you are looking for?

if your using firefox get a pluggin called downloadhelper. you even have options to save as another file type.
