Default Mst HD SMART bad, backup

I have just received "PR1 mst H disk SMART bad, backup..."
I have heard you can disable SMART. So far, I have not be able to get around this error. F1 does nothing, Safe mode is also not working. Any ideas? If I get around and open, how do I disable SMART?
Thks

If you can reach BIOS. (By hitting Delete or F1 or F2 on boot) Go into Boot options and there should be and option to disable it.

If your getting a smart error then it's a good idea to back up the drive and replace it not ignore it. If your drive is so bad off that SMART is telling you it's bad then it's not long for this world.

I plan on backing up but I have to get past the error msg first which so far has not been possible. I plan on getting into the bios and shutting down the smart test, once I get more data on how.
