Default laptop ac adapter problem

Hi, I have a few dell laptops, 2 inspiron 1521's and a 6000. I have 2 adapters that will charge any of the three, so I know the laptops will all charge. My problem is, I have three other adapters that when plugged in the laptops recognizes them, they run on ac, but they will not charge. I checked them with voltage meter and they are putting out correct voltage. Does anybody know what the problem could be ! Thanks
