Default Which card is better?

nVidia GeForce 9400GT 1GB DDR2 or GeForce 8600 GT 256 Mb DDR3 ????

8600 GT better than 9400 GT.

Even the 7600 GT is better than 9400 GT.

geez' thats a suprise. I have a 7900 nd want to go up a level' seen some 9400 at good prices. if you went for a 8600 what option would you go for?

If you want to step up, I'd start with at least a 9600.
I went from a 7900GS to an 8600GTS and saw minimal performance gain.

To be specific, I could not run my settings any higher, but I did get
about 10+ more frames per second. Not a huge leap.

I think you should get something in the 9600 series. Those start with a
fillrate of 20 billion/s.

What is your budget first, and second, you can get an 8800GT off of ebay for very cheap, cheaper than a 9600GT and it is more powerful
