Default How will this setup fare?

I'm building a new PC for college (studying Digital Animation), and I wanted to see what some people thought of my new setup. Any suggestions as to where I could change some hardware would be appreciated, if it's for the better.

Case:

Gigabyte P45 Dxxx Mobo
Geforce GTX260 superclocked (626core/2106memory 896MB)
Core 2 Quad Q9550 (2.83GHZ) processor (OC'ing to 3.5ghz+)
630W PSU
4gb DDR3 1600mhz ram
320gb SATA drive
320gb Western Digital passport external HD (school files kept here)
320gb IDE Internal Drive (school files backup)
1tb external HD (everything else kept here)

How will this run games such as Crysis and Far Cry 2, and rendering scenes from Maya or 3DS Max?

Id recommend going phenom II or i7, as socket 775 is end of life and will see no new processor releases, and what power supply. 630W means nothing, make sure you get a decent brand such as corsair/FSP/Antec/BFG/OCZ/Thermaltake/pcpower&cooling/etc.

Dont skimp on a power supply,if it fails, it usually takes out other components alongside it.

I actually had to change a few things, since the mobo I had picked out went out of stock.

New setup:
EVGA 750I SLi
GTX275
Q9550
Cooler Master 550w PSU
4GB Corsair DDR2 800

Id try to get a corsair power supply, but i would still highly recommend switching to a phenom II or i7 based system, depending on budget.

As long as you have a powerful CPU and quite a bit of memory you should be able to render just about anything fairly quickly with good quality. Depending on the renderer (VRay, POV-Ray, Mental Ray, Maxwell etc.) the GPU can be used in the rendering process as well.

i think for the price you would pay for the q9550 i would rather go phenom II 955, if price isnt an issue go with the i7...

socket 775 is being replaced, socket am3 is new so when time to buy new cpu etc you wont need to replace whole setup

+1 for the Phenom II 955 best CPU to get right now if you don't won't to spend a lot on an i7 rig. For the GPU you should look at an ATI Radeon 4890 there the same as the GTX 275 plus cheaper and they overclock like a beast. I would go with a different power supply. What is you budget for all of this.
