Default Ive got a really annoying problem!

Hello
Had this problem for about a month now and im getting really frustated as i see now way in fixing it.

Basicaly my pc randomly wont boot straight away, but will after resetting the bios. This made me think that my overclocking settings where the problem, however i change them back the second time i boot and run orthos once it reaches windows and it is stable. Another reason why i do not think it is my bios setting is because it used to work just fine, and boot everytime.

Secondly ive removed cd, hd, memory sticks, put fans into different parts of the motherboard, switch psu connectors, tried every single overclocking setting and i still just have no idea what causes it to randomly fail to boot first time.

It sometimes does not post after a restart also, it used to almost certainly not to post after its been off for a long period of time however this does not happen as much as it used too. After it does not post for a while, it reverts back to default bios settings, which i change back straight away and then it works fine. This is very frustating because it used to post first time evertime and now it wont.

Please help and thanks in advence

yeah got my memory at 2.1v at 5-5-5-15, tried slowing them down to 5-6-6-20 and speeding them up to 4-4-4-12, tried lowering volts and raising them and ive flashed my bios twice and removed the battery

Just a few bucks, try replacing the battery. With a dead or dying battery, most boards will boot just fine but it will keep resetting the bios to default. But some boards will just freak out.

Ive had this board for around 2 years, is that ho wlong it usually takes to run out the battery? Ive learnt to overclock on this pc, and it was my fist build, would this sort of on off and fiddling around ive done with it caused to battery to fail quicker?

will this one do?

Drugstores and whatnot or any place that sells watch batteries should have them. Just take your battery in and they should be able to find you an equivalent battery.

Just ordered some of amazon for a quid. Im getting excited about this because this problem has been the bane of my life for the last month, but everytime i think ive solved it, i havent, my pc just chooses to let me beleive that i have.

What about the PSU? before starting this thread i was begining to think it might be that, seeing as all the components must be ok if it can run orthos for 24 hours

And thanks for everyone who has replied to far, your help is very much appreciated

If it can run orthos its at full load, meaning the psu would have failed if it was psu. The stealthxstream 600W psu's are decent psu's.

Hi guys

Put in a new battery this morning and my pc is still playin gup

I dont know what to do anymore

Going to try not overclocking it, see if that makes a difference, and im using a different power cable

Any other suggestions?

EDIT
It is not the power cable

im thinking it is either the ram, cpu or gpu now
