Help with new SATA drive

So I decided to purchase a Samsung SpinPoint 120GB Serial ATA150 Drive to replace my "old" Samsung 160GB IDE drive, which i bought an external enclosure for. Im having a few problems getting this thing back up and running. (I have a MSI Neo-FIS2R mobo and do not have the external HD hooked up at all while attempting to get it up and running) First question is where to set the jumpers on each drive? Second is, when i try installing xp pro it says it hasnt found any hard drives on my computer to install onto. How i get it to be recognized? If anybody can help I would appreciated it very much!
