Default Which operation system is better/should i buy?

Hello!
I have AMD Athlon 64 X2 2000MHZ Processor
I just bought 4GB extra to the 1 GB i already have, which means i gonna have 5GB 800MHZ total.
I also have Windows XP 32bit professional so anyway my computer won't support the whole 5GB, but only 3.25 (approximately).
My question is - which operation system (Windows XP 64 or 32bit/Vista 64 or 32bit/7 64 or 32bit) will work the best on my computer?

On the one hand i have read that XP 64bit has some issues... on the other hand Vista uses more memory (or something like this...). I dont know anything about Windows 7...
So what OS should i really buy?

Thanks.

i would leave it alone and wait. xp pro 32 works fine. the way i understand it the memory is still used. on the otherhand windows 7 will come out at the end of the year.

then again im seeing from post here with links you can reserve a copy now or buy a vista and be entitled to a free upgrade. myself i would rather have a retail full install. not an upgrade.

Windows 7 release is October 22nd this year.

There's no difference. You can do a full install with the upgrade discs.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what "prebuilt" computer is?

And about my question, do you think that Windows 7 is the most recommended for me?

Just means a computer you purchased from a shop..already built.

Like a Hp,Dell etc

Well i would see if you can get your hands on a cheap copy of Xp x64.....alot of people on here wont agree with me on this,Saying that Xp x64 sucks but its actualy quite good imo.

Everything i tried worked,even games.

If you decide not to go with Xp x64 then get the x64 bit windows 7,you could actualy download the RC and see how it runs on your system before spending cash.

If you're going to try the Release Candidate, you'd better hurry.

You don't need to rush to get the RC. The RC will be available at least through July 2009 and we're not limiting the number of product keys, so you have plenty of time.
