Is it a good proc for the money? or should i spend the extra 40 bucks to get the 3200+ ... if your burning/encoding a dvd , and multitasking does the 3000 try to freeze up , or does it run smooth? jus wondering cause im about to get a s939 proc and i want one thats cheap but still good... thanks

with the right motherboard and ram i think the +3000 can hit +3500 speeds fairly easily, and i know it can hit +3200 speeds extremely easily, but i know that not everyone wants to overclock, mine is still stock for now..i honestly dont think theres a much better bang for your buck cpu out there right now.

i use DVDShrink 3.2 most of the time, and sometimes i use nero, but im not that big of a fan of nero... anyways when encoding dvds in DVDShrink/Nero my computer trys to freeze up when im surfing the internet at the say time( if i let it set there half way through the encode, then try to multitask my xp 2800+ freezes (or just runs really really slow) and i was wondering if the 64 3000+ would at the same way....

if you going to be heavily multitasking, video re-authoring, durning dvd-cds, etc maybe you should consider going down the intel route.
As for the perfomance diff between the 3200 and the 3000 it not noticablee, but if it bother you then oc it up (i see you experience). Any reason for the choice of mobo, if you like chaintech then they make a nf4 board for a few extra bucks, which is a better chipset than the uli m1689 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813152053
