Default HDD LED constantly on....

Hi guys, after a complete burnout becuse of heat issues, my HDD wouldnt boot (check sig for make and model). I did a full format and reinstall XP from a clean disk. Everything is back up and running now but i have noticed a problem that wasnt there before. When the PC is idle and absolutely nothing is running the HDD LED is constantly on (not full on, just a faint glimmer inside the LED), when i run an application it shines brightly, like it should.

I know it's not really a problem, just a little niggle that i've got. I have checked all wiring to check for loose broke wires, nothing. I have taken the HDD out and disconnected it and swapped power connectors, put it on a different IDE channel but still no luck.

Any suggestions ould be of great use, thanks.
