Question DVD tray acting strangely

I have a Dell Inspiron 531s w/XP Home sp3. CDs play fine. CDs burn fine. DVDs play fine. But when I go to burn a DVD from my homemade movie files, I get the message to insert a blank disc, which I already have, and the disc tray automatically ejects. I am using Roxio Creator which was included with this PC. I have tried several discs, all of which I confirmed were blank. They are Maxell DVD-R 1-16x. Any idea what the problem might be?

I think it is an issue with roxio. Try using a different burning program and see if you get the same result.
