Here is some personal concern which I hope to pick some solution from this forum. If you do have some idea on how to resolve this issue, please let me know.
I had just reformatted my PC and had made sure that my sound,speech and audio devices are connected and activated. I had not also found any questionable remark at its system. I just couldn't figure why the only sound I could hear is a ring coming from skype call, other than that, I do not hear any sound, nor could I hear any sound from my speaker. I had also made sure that speakers are in good state and working. I couldn't hear any sound from any IM even though settings are made clear to pick up any sound. Other websites like youtube and music sites could also not pick up any sound from my computer. So, an exemption is skype, because if someone makes a skype call, that is the only time i hear a sound from my pc.

Which part of the computer system do you see that I have not been able to activate and had resulted to this problem?

does the sound from the skype call go through a headset or from the speakers, as im thinking that your speakers are either connected wrong or some software has muted your speakers somehow.

There is a built-in sound, so even if there is no speakers or headset used, I could still hear the sound of a ring on a skype call, however, on other sites, or doing some things with the use of a sound like trying to listen to music, it just won't work... even if i say, i'll use speaker or headset.
