It's the bus driver for High definition audio. If its not installed the sound driver won't install properly. Most motherboard these days have it.

well, it doesn't work with my board. i try installing it but it said its not supported. and i've reinstalled my OS, and it got a little better, but still...any chance its my audio cable? i dont have another to test it so i dont know

Your board does in fact have high definition audio. Look in device manager under system devices and see if there is one or more items labeled "microsoft uaa bus driver for high definition audio".

no. i know i have high definition audio. but i tried installing the drivers but it said it didnt support.

i checked and i dont have that in my device manager though
