To add to what John has said I think adding another 1 Gig memory stick would help especially if you have onboard graphics. Even if you have a dedicated graphics card I still think your RAM might hold you back.

Personally I use the following free programs to keep my computer in great shape:
1. Ccleaner 2. Advanced Systemcare Free You can download them and run them at least once a week to help maintain your computer's speed. |

avoid all the unused programs and stop not using exe process from task manager. and remove all the temporary file from ur computer.
