Default MMORPGs (on-line gaming)

Which on-line game is the best? And for the heck of it, ballpark how long have you played?

I vote for Guild Wars, I've had it for about 6 weeks and have probably played about 250 hours so far at least...

guild wars is a very good game, for one reason there are no monthly fees... so you only pay for the game and you're all set

I've wanted to try a MMORPG for awhile, but hated the subscription crap, so Guild Wars was just what the doctor ordered !

No subscriptions??? Sweet....I'll have to think of getting that...Thanx guys... But I've recently been hooked on Runescape which is a kind of boring game after a while but if you know what you're doing you can always find things to do.

one other thing on ild was is,.. ach party as an own land map. so its not 1 big world. only the cities are 'shared', there you can make a party and go outside (where your party will be allone)

True, but they have added a few areas already without any additional fees, and at least you can choose to buy the expansion or not if you want to, and you still don't have to keep paying if you don't want to...

After playing both WoW and SWG for at least 8 months each, I can honestly say I will never play another MMO again. They are just time sinks for items, and of those two, neither of them have any decent RPG elements worth playing continiously.

I will never play Everquest as it's developed by SOE, and if SWG has taught me one thing...it's to loath SOE and their development cycle/customer support/and their games
