using Canon S3IS

Good camera and have all attachments besides working for me.
Question : related to a wedding pictures for my family. Im also taking pictures. I usually install the wide angle lens. very good for closeup and trying to capture everybody. does it make since for just pictures to leave the lens off?

My program has been use it for everything. Backyard pictures or what ever.
I don't want to screw this up. The wide angle gets a little more. but if im walking around in a wedding would i want to use this lens for everyday shooting?

need to know.
