Default I'm new here and I really need help

my computer recently got a virus a few days ago. I cannot run any programs other than safari for some reason. I tried to download AVG after reading how to fix the problem, but after downloading and trying to run the program I get the same error as when i try to run any other program. System restore doesn't work. The only way i can use system restore is in safe mode. when i get to the part that says press next to finish system restore i press it and nothing happens. I have no idea what to do. can anyone help me?

Chances are if your virus program won't run then neither will Malwarebytes antimalware program. You can try booting to safe mode and see if AVG will work and then scan from there. If not, you might have to take the hard drive out of your system and put it in another system to scan it and delete the offending files and then put it back in yours and continue scanning.

You might be able to run Malwarebytes...try renaming the Malwarebytes .exe to another filename then reboot the computer and run the renamed exe of Malwarebytes.

You could remove the HDD and connect it to another computer....thats an option as well.

Those should work, but if they don't, you can format your drive on another computer.

ALso, welcome to the forums, all of us here would love to help you, and we'd appreciate it if this wasn't the only thread/post you started.
