Default Cannot detect speakers

Hi,

Recently I reinstalled my Windows XP and now, I have problems getting the old machine to detect my speakers. I went to download the driver from Realtek, but each time it tries to install, halfway through, a blue screen will appear and I have to restart the computer. This has happened about 4 or 5 times and I am not sure what is the problem.

I downloaded the EVEREST program and here is the report on the details of my computer.

Default

if its usb speackers then try getting drivers gor it

if its bilt in sound card then try geting a pci sound card

if it is a pci sound card then make sure its in all the way and try different sockets

try different software / drivers

make sure evrything is pluged in try different sockets
