I've recently installed a new OS (vista) and now my speakers don't work. They worked fine before when I had windows XP on. The speakers turn on and the computer recognises them when I hover the mouse over the volume control in the system tray. When I installed vista I haven't installed any drivers or anything like that, but maybe I should, I don't know. The speakers are Philips VOIP 433.

You should try installing the drivers yourself first to see if that helps. If it doesn't, go to control panel and go to "sound". You see the speakers in there? Make sure you set those speakers as the "default". Double click on the speakers in "sound" and make sure all your volumes are up and get back to us.

The drivers are already installed and there are no updates available. All the configuration settings in the control panel say that the device is working properly and it is enabled as the default.
What should I do next? |

Are all the levels up for the speakers in the Volume from the task bar and in "sound"?
Double check all connections/make sure speakers are plugged in correctly and into the right jack on your motherboard and/or soundcard.

Ah it works now. I tried to disable and re-enable the speakers in control panel, and when I pressed disable the speakers disappeared forever. After that they worked fine, for some reason. :s
