Default More memory suggestions?

I have this mobo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131296R
and currently run this for memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231184

and was wondering if I should get the same memory or should I get something else?

Oh I run vista 64 premium.

Thanks

What do you use your computer for that makes you think you need more memory?

Nothing except I want more... When the kids play game like l4d we have the logitech G15 keyboard and it say the both the memory and cpu is running near 100%. This is why I wanted to upgrade to 8gb memory and to the Q9550. I now have the E8500 cpu. Maybe the keyboard is not giving me correct numbers or too many things are running in the backround?

Somethings not right there...your system should not be ysung 100% resources on l4d....its a light game imo.

I would check your system to see whats eating all that memory, could be a virus or something.

As for the ram if you realy want more,Then yes go for the same matching sticks as to what you have now.

I don't believe it's a virus, the comp. is rarely used. I'm rebuilding it now. Just got another psu and trying some cable magmt. Thanks, I'll buy more of the same.

Update playing games yield anywhere from 35-65% on the CPU and sits right at 46% on the memory usage. Do I need more memory or is this OK?

I always thought Valve made sure all their games would use as much free memory as possible.

It did so on HL2 for me at least...once I crashed the game is was all freeed up @ 4GB.

So you think maybe it's just valve? Were only playing 3 games right now. I play L4D and my daughter plays Sims and WOW. Only using this much ram and cpu on L4D. I didn't know if I should go to a Q9550 or upgrade this cpu to a i7 but I'm trying not to spend money right now.

What computer do you have?

And if it's a custom build, please post your specs.

I wouldn't upgrade to a quad its a total waste of cash. I only did since the E8400 at the time was the same price and I do video editing (all 4 cores get used)

As stated please give us your specs.

a E8500 can overclock to 3.6ghz-4.0ghz on air and no game out will require that. 4GB of ram is plenty unless your doing high-end CAD or Graphics. Anymore is a waste of cash even on Vista Ultimate x64.

Buy your new quad system when the low-wat I7 comes out or when the games you play have quad-core support. Do so now you would not see a increase in gaming and will be very dissapointed.
