Default Anyone used this program?

While working on my other computer (Work computer) I was surfing the internet looking on accomadation websites for an upcoming holiday, and when I clicked on a link from google to open up a page, my screen suddenly got bombarded with tons of windows opening on top of each other. None of them loaded so I couldn't see what is was. It kept doing this and my anti-virus was going mad saying things about trojans and spyware and that my IP was under attack? I was forced to hold in the power button to force shutdown.

I turned it on again about an hour ago and it turned on fine without any problems. Just my internet doesn't work and AVG says it's no longer operational. I got recommened to this website to download a fixer for this:

Has anyone used/heard of that? Think it's reliable? The description says exactly what I need help with.
Thanks for the help so far
