I plan on recording my cousin's wedding and perhaps a few more in the future. Since the Aiptek GVS doesn't have the best microphone build in, I'd like to find some kind of alternative to use. I need something that'll plug directly into the camera and provide nice strong sound. It needs to be self-powered...no pre-amps or mixers. Size doesn't matter as it'll be stationary (probably on my mic stand beside the camera...) Mono is fine as that's all the camera records through mic-in.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I recently tried this, but it was a joke. The output was WAY too quiet and the depth was very shallow. It was only useful for people speaking directly into it...
