Default Best laptop under $600?

Hello. My girlfriend is looking for a laptop which will mainly be used for school (typing, microsoft, etc) and web browsing. Her budget is no more than $600 out the door.

This one is her favorite out of the ones we have found at best buy. There was also a Toshiba, but it was quite a bit bigger and she wants one smaller. I have had a Gateway laptop for a few years now and it's been a really good computer. I've heard mixed things about AMD X2s in laptops though.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you guys think about ASUS laptops? I know they make good motherboards, and I'd assume they make decent laptops, but I'm not sure. Does anyone have any reccomendations? The smaller the better, but it must be a dual core pc. Thanks!
