Default Harddrive not booting

I have just replaced my old MB with a Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P. I am having trouble getting get this to boot into my Vista64 WD500gb hardrive. It will get past post and start to load then it restarts in a loop. It acts like a bad overclock but with no BSOD. I am not overclocking and everything in bios looks fine. I have another hardrive that works fine and I can get to my files through this drive but not any other way. Anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do here to get this harddrive to boot properly ???

If you went from one motherboard to a different motherboard, you will need to do a repair install of windows. The hardware on the motherboard is all different now and thats why you can't boot into the old windows installation. Either do a repair install or I would actually back up your data and do a fresh installation. A fresh installation will cause less headaches in the future.

I appreciate the help I was trying to avoid reformating but, went ahead and it fixed the problem. I am curious how can I make a boot selection on my two hardrives? I don't like accessing the cmos to change boot order. Thanks

You will have to search for a third party program to install that will do it.
