We will be closing on our house soon and I am trying to figure out how I want to setup my surround sound in the living room and have determined that I will likely be looking at purchasing a set of wireless speakers to replace my current creative labs 6.1 setup since I have no idea how to run the cables effectively.
I would love to have 5.1 wireless set with a powered sub. Audio will be routed from my media center pc, so they have to be pc compatible. I don't want to spend a boatload, but I would be willing to spend around $100 or more depending on the product. Ill be selling my current setup so that will recoup costs. I've looked at the Dell wl6000 set, but I don't see 5 independent speakers in the pictures, just two and a front. Any recomendations you have used? |

The Dell set you mentioned is a 5.1 set. It has a center, front left, front right, subwoofer and a single rear speaker that plays the rear channels. I have no experience with the set but the reviews look good. Someone even said though the rear is one speaker both channels are distinct and seperate sounding. I would never go with a wireless system myself but I am very critical on what I use to listen to music or to watch movies. If you are not so critical like me then this set will do the trick.

I have a nice set of Creative Labs speakers but in our house I have no way of running the cables correctly. I would say that I am critical of the quality of the sound, but if I can get a good quality from the wireless ones i will be happy.

Thats just an idea though. Im kind of a peny pincher when it comes to stuff i already own. That way you dont have to buy any thing or a drill and a large bit if you dont have it. If you already thought of this then good luck on your endeavors

I have a similar setup, I believe, Inspire 2.1. speakers in one room and the computer in another room. Using Sound Blaster wireless instead of cables. If you follow the link - there is a lot of talk about iTunes but I actually do not even use iTunes - it works fine with Winamp too
