Default Need help with new HTIB(setting it up).

I am going to be buying a new TV and HTIB. I literally have never done any thing like this before. I built my own computer (with the help of this forum!), but when it comes to TVs, and home theaters im a noob. I am going to be hooking that computer up to this new system (computer information located in my sig), and also i want to hook my PS3 and DVD player.

My first question is, am i going to need any extra cords? How would i wire this? Are there any other components i am going to need?

Any other helpful advice would be awesome!

Depending on what kind of connections are on your dvd player you would either need 3 or 4 of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812189173 If your DVD player does not support HDMI I would go with a with a component cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882850001 and you would need either an Optical cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812123033 or a Digital Coaxil cable: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882021052 again depends on what DVD player you have.

The Sony HTIB allows you too hook everything through hdmi and makes for a very simple setup. You would connect all your devices to it then have from the Sony output one hdmi going to your tv. You use the Sony to select your Audio/Video source going to your tv.

I forgot that if you want to listen to the Cable TV over the speakers you would need to buy one more optical cable for that. You would just connect it to the optical out on the back of the tv and place it in the optical in on the Sony.

Yea man you got it. That's going to be a kickass system for the money.
Also good find on the 40". That is a great price for a high quality TV.
