Angry Error Message

All of a sudden I started getting this error message when trying to install programs.

"An I/O error occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file."

Nothing is wrong with the disks that I have as I have istalled them on other computers. If I download the program, I have tried several different sites to download from and the same result. Sometimes if I download the program on another computer and then istall it on this one, it works. Other times it doesn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a software incompatibality. Does this happen with all your instaliations, or only certain ones? I would check to make sure you dont have any running programs that could interfere with the instalation. Spyware could even be a proble, but I dont think that would cause a problem like this.

Since there have been two questions asking for details it would be useful to provide say, um, one example. It benifits you to make it easy for the rest of us to help you.

And while yer at it, QUESTIONS 101.
