Default RunDLL32

I recently had an issue with a computer not sure what happend may have deleted a virus or something and now when computer starts up it says its missing... weird i would think apps wouldn't run without rundll32.exe. I am currently reading Troubleshooting and Maintaining your PC for dummies. It is a very informational book!
