Default ripping problems

hi folks

i have a problem

im trying to put my cds on the hard drive of my computer. when i rip in ANY media player, the cpu dosent stay running, like the fan goes on and off, and sometimes it dosent even go on, i checked the cpu performance while i ripped and saw it go on and off. instead of it taking a couple of minutes to rip a cd, it takes like7 minutes .

what could be wrong? and what can i do ?
