Default Stock CPU cooler good enough?

Hi,
I'm purchasing a Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz CPU. I'm wondering if the stock CPU fan/heatsink is gonna be good enough.
I do gaming but not planing to overclock it.

By how much degrees Celsius does a decent aftermarket cooler run vs stock ones?

Also, is the stock fan gonna be a lot more noisy?

thanks!

Well the first thing I have to say is your really shouldn't get a Q9550 unless your are getting it dirt cheap or your are just upgrading.

To answer your questions if that stock heatsink and fan wasn't good enough to cool the CPU then why would they include it so yes it is good enough. An after market heatsink would be much better but is not necessary unless you are going to overclock. Also yes the stock HSF is going to be louder much louder. So an aftermarket cooler is not necessary but is recommended by most people especially if your are going to overclock.

Yes way overpriced and socket 775 is end of life and soon they will be stopping production of everything socket 775. You can get an AMD quad core for cheaper and better. Or you can get one of the new i5's for just a little more. So really the Q9550 is overpriced and nearly outdated.
