Default How much power can I get for my '07 PC

I have Compaq Presario SR2177CL Desktop PC, It was great until I was looking at newer games; Mirrors edge, Crysis...etc. I need a new vid card and my choices are slim to none with a 300W PSU.

So the question is how much power(wattage) can I put into the system without blowing the motherboard?

you cant "blow the mother board" because the voltage is regulated.

You'll be fine with whatever you put in there. Voltages are regulated, wattage is drawn as needed. You could crap a 1000 watt PSU in there if you wanted. Not knowing your specs or what you wish to upgrade to, it may be a bit of a waste I'm running a 650 watt now and I KNOW I'm hardly using its full potential

you should upgrade video card, if your gonna upgrade your power supply. Since you have one available Pci-Express Slot.
