So my computer is almost finished but im stuck here.
On one page it says " The eps12v power connector has a detachable 4-pin mechanism in order to support either a 8 pin socket or a 4 pin 'p4/12v' socket on the motherboard But then on the next page it says " Warning: The detachable 4 pin from the 24 pin main connector is not a P4 or 12V connector. Serious damage can be caused if you use it in place of P4 or 12V connector" Im confused... Help please?? I have the Corsair tx650w

24pin= ATX Motherboard connector. Older motherboards use a 20pin, and you can disconnect 4 pins from it if you dont need it.
EPS12v= 4pin/8pin CPU Power connector. Some motherboards use 4 pins, some 8 pins.

Ok, and what is this eps12v connector called? I have one cord with the 24 pin connector, 2 cords with 4 pins connectors that say PCI-E ( they look like they would fit the 4 pin slot ), and the rest of the connectors are for fans and graphics card.

![]() The cable on the right would be. The cable on the left is the 24pin connector. (Those cables are from a TX650 so yours should look pretty much identical )

So basically, DO NOT disconnect that 4pin plug from the 20+4 plug and plug it into a 4pin CPU port.
I think that's what they're trying to say.

Lastly, my fans only connect to the power supply right? No where to connect them to the mobo?
