AMD and Intel have different strong-points. Roughly, overall, price-to-price, they're going to be roughly equal. If you really want to compare 2 processors, look up benchmarks.

This is the reason why, by comparison standards, this chip has already broken the 4 GHz barrier. The Front Speed Bus is waaay higher, the Level 1 Cache is bigger (although the Level 2 is a bit smaller...). Furthermore, and finally look at the price. These are most of the reasons why people choose AMD over Intel when they are shopping for gaming, however the Hyperthreading helps with multi-tasking, which is when people tend to choose the Intel...

ROTGLMAO!

I pick AMD because it's faster for the things I like to do...I know I have an Intel, but next it be AMD.

im jst saying those 2 processors are very different look at how much more powerful the intel is and also an intel processor with the same capabilities as the AMD one would only be like 400$ im just curious why everyone picks AMD over intel if obviously intel is better.

Yes, the AMD runs at a slower GHz/MHz, but then look at the model number (i.e. 3200+, 4000+, etc.). That is put there so that people know how they compare to an intel processor. The 3200+ would run at about the same speed as an Intel 3.2 GHz chip not exactly the same, but close... It's a benchmark so that people aren't thrown off by the lower speeds of the AMD chips. Although, again, Intel is better for multi-tasking, and AMD is better for having one program running, i.e. gaming...

Yet again, they have different strong-points. Read CPU 101 (really, fantastic read, very informative)
If you still need more, read AMD slower ghz?
post thirteen forward.
