Default McAfee or Avira?

So I just got a laptop recently with vista. Of course it came with McAfee pre installed. A couple buddies have had bad experiences with it and I heard Avira was a pretty good anti-virus program. So my question is do you guys recommend to stick with the McAfee or should I uninstall it and get Avira?

Definitely Avira. McAfee is a major resource hog.

Download Avia first, then uninstall McAfee, then install Avira and you'll be set to go

Here's the McAfee Removal Tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe
You'll need it to remove McAfee fully

Oh and out of the TWO ONLY that you asked about, and none other !!
I say free Avira is the best: http://www.free-av.com/
