Open box motherboard??? Are you sure? With an open box, its possible something is missing and you will have to find it. It could be the IO port, sata cables, manual, or ide cable. I would choose a different one.

you need a better power supply than that. It's one of the main components that most people under estimate. get around 600-700W from either Corsiar or OCZ other than that it looks ok, what do you intend using the system for ? and what is your budget ?

Not really what I would do...

The power supply is 530w Raidmax...it has some good reviews but pushing a Phenom II x4 and a 4890 will be running it wide open. That will be asking a lot from the power supply. That's a nice build to gamble with a low budget power supply.

Your motherboard you selected only supports dual channel RAM...you selected a triple channel kit. I have used many Asus motherboards over the years. Sometimes they like OCZ RAM and sometimes they don't.

In my experience: Asus + OCZ = Issues

1. DVD Drive (I would use the Sony)

2. Case I would add a few extra dollars and get the Antec (better warranty, better cooling, better quality)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129066

3. CPU (Don't change a thing...great choice)

4. Hard drive is fine...I prefer Western Digital

5. RAM I would look at G. Skill (this is a good set and matches the color scheme)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231278

6. For the motherboard I would get the Asus Evo. Buying "Open Box" motherboards can be tricky. You may find a good deal but the warranties are not as good as a new one.

7. Power supply I would look at the 600w OCZ StealthXStream
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341010

8. For the video card...I would get the Sapphire card...a few dollars cheaper. I have a few friends that run Sapphire cards and they love them...never have any issues. I am not that experienced with ATI cards so if anybody can throw in some more input that would be great.

The total is a little more but the end result I think is better for you. Far better case, motherboard, RAM and power supply.

And it will have a nice Blue theme

******EDIT******

I just found a combo deal for the RAM and video card I picked...save $20

You dont need 3 sticks of memory with a AMD, thats for a tri channel Intel setup, just 2 or 4 sticks.

Dont get a open box Board.

Dont buy a cheap Power supply, that one is crap.

If you want 6GB of RAM, you'll need to get 2x 2GB + 2x 1GB.

The slots must be filled in pairs on a board that runs Dual Channel RAM.

I don't understand what you're saying about your "old p.o.s."

I know what "p.o.s." means, I just don't understand what this means:
