Spend the extra few bucks and get a 4850, far better than 9600gt(the 4850 is basically like a 9800gtx+/GTS250 as far as performance)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131162 Memory, $4 more get a better brand and 1066mhz: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166 Caviar black $5 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136320 Slim DVD burner is a waste, especially when that case uses standard 5.25" optical drives: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106289 Whats with the socket 775? At that price you should be going with an amd setup imo. ECS makes crappy boards and id steer clear of them. Id do something like this: Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131391 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103688 Your gonna need a PSU....

Whoa, WTF? Where'd the PSU go?
Anyways, I changed the items, put a 500W (he wants to get a higher end GPU later) ModXStream in there, and it comes to roughly 650$. Not a likable price (I like it) for him, so I dunno what to downgrade (not PSU)

Normally, I'd prescribe that, but he's an Intel Fanboy : ( and the intel stuff comes on a great combo deal.
