Default OCZ StealthXStream 500W or HEC 500TE-2WX 500W

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me which is the best out of those 2 i mentioned? The OCZ costs more but is it really that better than the HEC?

My rig is:

AMD X3 720
Gigavyte MA 770-UD3
AC ALPINE 64
4GB RAM OCZ
WD500GB
Antec 300
HD4850 ZALMAN

Yes it's a whole lot better OCZ is a name brand power supply and they are reliable. Hec is an off brand and personally I have had 3 or 4 go out on me. I can almost guarantee that everybody is going to recommend a OCZ over a hec.

I know OCZ has a better name but i dont know how good their PSUs are. In the reviews i read, they didnt really say its such an amazing PSU nor a bad one, so i just wanted to know if the price difference between the HEC and the OCZ is justified

I'd go with the OCZ. The thing about the power supply is if it fails, it can fry the rest of your components, putting you out a ton of money. That's why you wanna stick to name brand reputable power supplies.

The OCZ is the better of the two, ocz makes quality power supplies.

If you wanna save some money, the Xclio Stablepower 500W may be had for a bit cheaper than the OCZ and is just as good.

Dont skimp on a power supply,if it fails, it usually takes out other components alongside it.

OCZ sleeves their wires, FYI. They look very nice, and would look waaaaay cool inside a black painted case.

If you can afford, you could try and get a ModXStream like I did.

Definitely go with the ocz, I would never trust a HEC as they could fail any time and take other parts with it. Don't skimp on power supplies.

Yea it should be fine look at the rig in my sig it's running on a 400w corsair. Although I would do as bomber said and get a Xclio Stablepower 500w which is an awesome PSU for the price and a little better quality then the OCZ StealthXStream.

I had two OCZ go out on me this year. But the upside is that they have great
customer service, and it only takes a week for them to send me a replacement.
The downside is that I have to pay for shipping to their factory
