Default Upgrading video card driver problem.

I went to upgrade my video card drivers and it went through the wizard and at the end said it was complete. There was a sub message that said that windows wasn't modified and if I would like to reinstall the driver in the future I could just open the .exe file again. (Not the real message but something similar). So I restarted my computer and then it said I didn't have any drivers, so I had to delete them and reinstall the stock driver disks that came with my video card.

Video Card - Nvidia GeForce 7600GTX

Driver that I downloaded - http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_191.07_whql.html

Just ask if I wasn't clear enough in the description of the problem and I will try and clarify.
