Default Help Sharing Between XP and Windows 7

Hi, My wife has a laptop running Windows XP with some photos on the hard drive, what we want to do is allow her to access the hard drives on the main desktop computer that we have in the house which is on the same wireless network. The desktop is running Windows 7 (what a fine operating system it is too)

Is there anyway of doing this or is it a case of backup up the pictures via USB or DVD and coping across that way?

Thanks

Scott
