Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card - 30SB079200000
Set up Intel Core i7-860 Lynnfield ASUS P7P55D PRO LGA 1156 Intel P55 Ripjaws F3-16000CL9D-4GBRH ASUS GeForce GTX 275 and can someone recommend good speakers to go along with this if possible please...none that are super expensive but good quality for a decent price Last edited by tyonna; 10-13-2009 at 03:30 AM. |

I see no reason the card wouldn't work. You didn't specify if it's PCI-Express or PCI, but either should work fine.

ok can someone recommend a good set of speakers that aren't too expensive to go along with this set up that are more so for audio recording/producing....or atleast just answer me this, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, but can any set of speakers go along with this set up? in other words am i limited to certain speakers?

I can recommend you some speakers...but they will be expensive. You said you wanted to keep costs down.
This is why, the sound card you have chosen is 7.1 channels. All you can really get is 5.1 channel speakers. If you get anything less than 5.1 channel speakers, you might as well just use the on board sound from the motherboard. The cheapest decent 5.1 channel speakers you can find are around $80 pretty much anywhere on the web. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836121006 Now...you can run 2.1 channel audio and still have good sound quality. I have the Logitech X 230 set and they pound my computer room, awesome set of speakers. But with you doing "audio recording/producing" you should go for a good 5.1 channel set.

I don't see what's so great about sound cards... thank you SCOUT I've been looking for that speaker system for a while, and for some odd reason, it wouldn't come up under my searches.
