Default 2x512mb or 1x1GB ? & what brand?

is it better to use 2x512mb sticks or 1x1GB stick?

i'll have 4 total slots

Whats your mobo? If it can hold 4 sticks get the 512's. if it can hold less then that get the 1024 stick. Corsair is a good name, id go with that.

you're the reason why i made this thread

but do 2x512mb perform better than 1GB stick itself? i know you need 2 sticks in order to run DDR

but yeah i'll have 4 slots

Corsair is expensive do Geil or PQI perform just as good?

Isn;t DDR just the type of ram, that is faster thenSD, and you need 2 to run dual channel, if you have it.
