You need to set it to EPP in the bios or set the Speed - Voltage and Timing in the bios manually.

Boot into your BIOS and set the timings and voltage manually.
If you don't know how to do that, or even what the BIOS is, then skip it. You won't notice the difference anyway.

no, don't link them, then your CPU will be overclocked, which you don't really want because of cooling issues and inexperience
![]() Your system is freezeing because it is unstable. Knock the voltages up SLIGHTLY!! Not in large increments, if you do that the memory will end up overheating and dieing. Knock up the voltages a little, no more than maybe 5-10% without giving it dedicated airflow or atleast improving case airflow quite a bit. Once it boots and runs without freezeing, bsoding etc, you should be ok. To make certain though, run a stress test program, IBT (Intel Burn Test) is a good one: http://downloads.guru3d.com/IntelBur...load-2047.html the download button at the bottom of the page, not the top. If that is alright after 30 minutes or so, your system should be ok and stable

Have you tried one stick at a time, might have a bad stick. Or try 1.675V or maybe raise the timming some.
