Default 3 clicks

I don't know what might be causing this but I notice that Firefox is sluggish and sometimes freezes. Lately even when firefox isn't running I hear three clicks, like when you open a folder in explorer in the pattern of click click--click.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Have you ran and virus or malware scans since this has started happening? If you have and everything has came back clean, have you tried doing a system restore back to a day it was working fine?

Run a Malware or AntiVirus scan....I would agree with johnb35 that its a virus. Restoring your computer to an earlier point might not work though as some viruses tend to hide from the restore and are there when the restore is done.

FYI: Restore Points are designed to fix problems with Windows and Programs; They tend to only restore the Windows settings and programs that existed on your computer. At least in Windows Vista/Windows 7 the restore will keep your documents and files.
