Hello,
I am really new to RAID. One of my friends got some servers and he gave me an Adaptec 2100S controller and seven 18,3GB Seagate Cheetah ST318305LC hot-swap drives. I had to buy five 80 to 68 pin converters, so now I can build a level 5 array. My problem is that the jumper settings of the converters are not clear for me. They are generic ones, SCA80 written on them, they were tested with U80, U160 and U320 controllers, too. I can set the IDs for the drives, I can install activity LEDs, too, but there are three more jumpers labelled SYN, DLY and MTR. What are these used for and the most important: how to configure the SYN jumper? My ones are just like this: http://n2.vatera.hu/photos/7d/0b/709_1_big.jpg Greetings: Daniel
