Talking Assassin's Creed- Steam

Hey, for those who haven't purchased Assassin's Creed, it is on Steam for $5.00. That's a 75% discount. Just to point that out there for those who haven't played.

I've avoided STEAM b/c everything is a download rather than DVD based.

What happens if you have to re-install Windows 7 - do I permantly lose a game I downloaded from them - or is there a way they store my downloads in their site - and I can re-download it to my same PC?

Thanks

You can redownload it, to whatever comptuer you are on, as long as you arent signed in to your same account anywhere twice at the same time.

What bootup05 said is correct.
Just to clarify a little, when you purchase a game on steam, it is linked to your account. So any computer you use, you can simply log into your account and download the game (but can only have 1 computer logged in at a time). Steam is arguably more safe than a DVD because a DVD can get scratched or lost whereas as long as you remember your steam account info, you're set (and they do have password recovery).

Even if steam goes out of business, they have said that they will release patches so that your games will still work.

Seriously though, I couldn't access the server, and there were only 800 people plauying L4D, when tehres usually over 10,000, something must have been up.

Oh and, Assassins Creed on UK steam = £19.99.

Any way I can buy it on teh US steam ?
