It's weird... I needed to print something real quick before class so I booted my computer and printed what I needed, then figured I'd just Suspend it. Windows does it's thing, monitor goes to stand-by, HD's spin down...but the fans continue spinning and power-light stays on. Nothing will make it wake up except resetting it. I was hoping it was simply an OS problem, but it happens with both copies of Vista I have loaded here. I've not tried Linux yet so maybe a little later...
Otherwise the computer seems to be fine. Assuming it's hardware, anything you guys would check into first. I'm thinking probably PSU or motherboard related. Just for the Ha-Ha's I checked my voltages in PC Wizard. Aside from 12 volt, everything looks fine. I'm getting 2.16v for 12v, but I'm quite sure it's a fluke with the software as it shows to be around 12.10 in the BIOS. -- Restored the BIOS to the default settings then set up the overclock and drives as I had before. Same problem. Suspend worked before with these overclocked settings so I seriously doubt it's that. Still not test with Linux. One odd thign though; PC Wizard is showing my CPU running at 3.33GHz all the time. CPU-Z does show it under-clocking. Weird...

What motherboard do you have?
Any recent hardware or software installs? Recent Windows Updates?

Mobo is a Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
No recent hardware changes. Shouldn't have any software changes. I have Vista on two separate drives, one's primarily for gaming, the other for everything else. I've not loaded anything on both of them recently. No windows updates since I loaded the computer (both drives) Tried that... The suspend mode was set to S3. Changed to S1 and no go. This was before I loaded defaults. I'm unsure what it's set to now; S3 I'd assume.

You're trying to put it to Sleep?
How do you Suspend?

Start/Windows-Button/Whatever-it's-considered-in-Vista > Shut Down > Sleep from the drop down. Up until recently this hasn't been an issue. And I know there has been a time or two I have been away and the machine automatically went to sleep. I've not tried this yet; maybe I'll set the timer to something low and see what happens.

Start, type Device Manager.
Expand Keyboards, Right Click, Properties, Power Management. Uncheck the box that says "Allow this device to wake the computer". Do the same for your mouse. See if that does it.

OK, I shall check that in a bit... But a little new info. I booted to my Ubuntu LiveCD and tried to Suspend. It DID work...sort of. Everything cut off fine and the computer tried to wake up when I tapped the power button. Problem is it never fully came back. However, seeing as it actually did cut off, I'm feeling it is something relating to Windows.
At some point I might try to reload Windows. I have a slipstreamed copy of Vista with all the updates and such.
